Apple has supercharged its CPU (‘S’ refers to the speed), it has increased up the number of processor from 412MHz to 600MHz. The RAM of this new iphone has doubled from 128MB to 256MB. This new iphone 3G S comes in two versions - 16GB and 32GB. With this new model, Apple has changed the previous graphics chip with new one - the PowerVR SGX that gives more support to the more robust visuals through OpenGL ES 2.0.

All these new additions give a boost to the speed of all the iphone apps, one can easily notice the difference in loading times. As per Apple, now it gives of 2x faster loads.

Like I said that there are not much changes in the exterior, but yes there are few things that have changed. The 480 x 320 display is very identical to its predecessor, but it has one small feature that will make many people happier.
