Apple Registers Its Apps

Apple is ready to protect its apps. It has indicated to take steps in order to protect the icons and interface of the popular Nike+ application used on iPod touch of second generation.

The new design protection shows the apps in different states - the Workouts menu w/o a calibration option, ‘Now Playing’ screen and the sensor detection screen. These new screenshot design registrations are for the icons on the Workouts screen, a circle icon for basics, an icon for long distance workouts, a stop watch for timed workouts and also a target icon.

Each of these screenshot designs has the iPod mark in the upper left-hand corner.

As of now, there are no signs that Apple will be doing the same for the iPhone.

Curently, this change in the Nike+ support apps is only for the ipod touch of the second generation. Apple has notably taken this step in the current scenario of the growing software piracy market.
